Fauna/Banks II is a mix of solo and collaborative work by Benry Fauna and Imogen Banks. Continuing dialogue between the practices of two friends, this show is an exchange of materials, and an exercise in imagining their work in new contexts. Arriving from different approaches of duplication and manipulation, both Banks' and Fauna's processes lend to each other, creating surreal mixed media works. As a follow-up to their collaboration in 2024, Fauna and Banks celebrate their community of lovers and friends through portraits and a shared interest in exhibiting work made outside their comfort zones. Each introducing themselves to new materials and processes, their mutual inspiration from intimate relationships translates into its own visual language. Each leaning into the vulnerability of embracing new materials akin to the expression of their emotions. With gratitude, they find ways to adorn the ones they love.
